Join the Team and Bellota for an evening of Scottish whisky and Spanish tapas!
Editor of Bellota, Soraya García will be joining us from Amsterdam to kick off our 5th annual celebration. Soraya will talk a little (in English) about her independently published magazine which is available in Spanish (and English too from Issue 4.)
Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase issues – although there were be free prize draws on the night – try on samples of featured designs including some made by our 2020 vendors, and meet previous contributors to Bellota.
This event is by advance ticket only and the price includes your tapas.
Your choice of drinks will be an additional cost and available from the bar which will include a selection of Scottish whiskies.
Bellota was born 2 years ago, organically, step by step, and with the help of many friends who were independent yarn dyers and festival leaders. They have grown into a beautiful community of “rebel” and inspired knitters and designers. Soraya loves that Bellota has been a part of the late growth and change within the Spanish Knitting Community; promoting new dyers, encouraging new designers to self-publish their work, and creating links in the International Community.

Ian started his working life in the Police. After 15 years of service he re-trained to become a teacher in Primary Education. Ian is passionate about Scotland; its heritage, landscape and the many diverse attractions it boasts. He enjoys nothing more than sharing his knowledge and experience of his homeland.
Patti has over 20 years of experience as a Personal Assistant and Event Organiser; she is dedicated to developing unique experiences for her clients, organising itineraries to give visitors an experience of a lifetime. Keen to share her local knowledge of the countryside, Patti also assists as a Guide on tours.
All drivers for our Highland Tours Perthshire are carefully vetted, knowledgeable and passionate about their business. They are keen to share their knowledge and create fabulous experiences to be remembered forever.
Highland Tours Perthshire’s primary vehicle is a luxury 8-seater Ford Torneo, which provides space to relax and enjoy the views.

Leaving Perth, your Guide will first transport you to Loch Tay through Glen Quaich; the road climbs to a height of 520 feet above sea level and offers stunning panoramas and breath-taking scenery to rival those of Glen Coe.
On arrival at Loch Tay, you will see an old Iron Age dwelling sitting on the banks of one of Perthshire’s largest lochs, surrounded by the Southern Highlands; if the views are clear you may see Ben Lawers, the highest mountain in the area. Your visit in the area will include standing stones, the village of Kenmore and the Fortingall Yew; the Yew is known as the oldest tree in Britain and possibly one of the oldest living things in Europe.
On departing this area, your guide will take you to one of Perthshire’s finest Clan Castles; Castle Menzies is the seat of Clan Menzies and also now, Clan McGregor. Here you will undertake a tour of the castle, learning about the its history since the 12th Century and even how it hosted Bonnie Prince Charlie on his way to the Battle of Culloden in 1746.
Time for a lunch ; your guide will transport you to one of the gems of the Perthshire Highlands, The Highland Chocolatier. Here you can enjoy a well-earned cuppa, bite to eat, and peruse the museum and shop before you start your journey back to Perth. On route you will visit Dunkeld Cathedral and spend some time in this charming village , before making your final stop to feed some Highland Cows.
