When is the Festival?
The Scottish Yarn Festival will take place on 9 and 10 September at the Dewars Centre, Glover Street, Perth, Scotland. The Scottish Wool Producers Showcase will return in spring 2024. Where can I get tickets?
Tickets for The Scottish Yarn Festival will be released on our website at 7pm BST on 1 July. We would recommend purchasing your tickets early and in advance as a limited number of tickets will be available on the door each day and we are unable to reserve these under any circumstances. Weekend tickets (cheaper than single day entry) will not be available on the door.
Tickets for the next Scottish Wool Producers Showcase will be released in 2024.
What Covid precautions are you taking?
Although there are no longer legal requirements to wear masks at our event we would ask all attendees to still consider wearing a mask when and where possible as many of our vendors, Team, attendees, and loved ones remain clinically vulnerable. Hand sanitiser will be provided throughout our event area. Most vendors will accept contactless payments but all will accept cash, Vendors at our events have always been well spaced out and we are known for our wide accessible aisles.
Is parking available at the Dewars Centre?
The Dewars Centre has 200 car parking spaces available on site which it shares with the neighbouring leisure pool and will also be in use by our vendors. Please be mindful of our attendees with limited physical mobility when choosing where to park, although disabled parking is available at our venue. Free parking is available in all Council owned car parks and on-street pay and display on Sundays only (please check before leaving your vehicle.) Where are the nearest public transport links?
The Dewars Centre is conveniently located close to both Perth Railway Station, Perth Bus Station, and directly opposite a bus stop serviced by Park and Ride services (Saturday only – please refer to the guide above.)
Will you have seating areas available?
The Scottish Wool Producers Showcase: Seating areas will be available on the First Floor of our event.
The Scottish Yarn Festival: Rest areas with seating will be available in the Vendors’ Gallery Marketplace, in the Lounge and cafĂ© areas on the First Floor, and also within our Quiet Room on the ground floor.
If you have difficulty standing while queueing please advise Security once you arrive.
Is the Dewars Centre mobility aid / wheelchair accessible?
All areas of the Dewars Centre are mobility aid and wheelchair accessible with a lift accessing the First Floor and low graduated ramps to Vendors’ Gallery Marketplace (The Scottish Yarn Festival). Aisles in our Marketplace are wide and most booths are set up open plan for easy navigation and viewing. If you are concerned that your wheelchair or mobility aids may not fit in the lift please email us at hello@thescottishyarnfestival.com prior to purchasing your tickets so that we can check the dimensions for you.
Where is the nearest cash point / ATM?
ATMs are located at all the main banks within Perth City Centre as well as at Morrisons on Caledonia Road and instore in ALDI on Glasgow Road.
Do I need a child’s ticket?
Accompanied children under 16 do not need a General Entry Ticket. Please do not buy your under 16 child a ticket in advance from our website as our volunteers will be unable to process refunds on the door for tickets bought in error. Under 18s and babies are not permitted in our classes or social events.
Do you offer concessionary tickets?
Wheelchair and mobility scooter users, or those using two walking sticks or crutches may apply for a free companion ticket if bought in advance. Please notify us of your ticket number and companion’s name by emailing us at hello@thescottishyarnfestival.com at least 72 hours before attending the Festival. Please note we do not offer any other concessionary tickets at this time but it you have another diagnosed medical disability that will prevent you from attending on your own please contact us on the above email address and we will do our best of offer a solution where possible.
I bought a ticket and can no longer go. Can I swap it or get a refund?
All our tickets are automatically generated and issued to the registered address at time of purchase, therefore we are unable to cancel and refund or swap them once sales have been completed. All advance ticket holders agreed to our terms and conditions of sale before being able to proceed to the checkout on our website. We strongly advise that you book leave from work – if applicable – before committing to buying any tickets.
Can I bring my dog?
Only assistance dogs are permitted in our venues.
